Dear Parent/Carer,

This is a reminder that our Key Stage 3 Academic Review Day (ARD) on Friday 9^th February.  School will not be open for usual lessons that day as staff will be meeting with Year 7, 8 and 9 students and their families to discuss their academic progress.

Year 10 students will be working from home and will have work set for them to complete via MS Teams.

Year 11 students will have two mock exams on this day. There is a full cohort English Language exam in the morning and a Geography exam in the afternoon. Students not taking GCSE Geography will be dismissed following the English exam for independent study and revision.  Further details of this will be sent to Year 11 students and families.

For our Key Stage 3 students, we will be allocating appointment times for core subjects and subjects where the student isn’t meeting their expected grade.  There will then be the opportunity for families to book further appointments for any other subject of their choice.  This will be on a first come, first served basis.  Details of your exact appointment times and how to book further appointments will be released a few days before the ARD.  However, we ask that you keep the following time slots free as all of your appointments will be allocated in these windows:

• Year 7 – 8.30am - 10.30am
• Year 8 – 11.00am - 1.00pm
• Year 9 – 1.30pm - 3.30pm

Appointments with each teacher will be approximately 5 minutes, with time allocated to move between rooms, therefore we expect each student’s appointments to take a minimum of 90 minutes in their allocated slot.

Students should be accompanied by a parent or family member wherever possible, however if this is not possible, they should still attend the appointments themselves as it counts as their school attendance for the day.  Students should also attend in full school uniform.
