Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls Sports Day 2025 - Epic Moments & Student Highlights!

Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls Sports Day 2025
On Wednesday 16th July, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls came alive with energy, excitement, and school spirit as we celebrated our annual Sports Day. It was a fantastic showcase of athletic talent, teamwork, and community, with students from Years 7 to 10 and staff all out on the field enjoying the day together.
The morning kicked off with javelin, shotput, and discus, followed by high jump, long jump, triple jump, and a full schedule of track events from 11:30am onwards. The day concluded with the ever-popular relay races and form class tug of war events that had everyone cheering!
Standout Performances:
- Daya (Year 7) impressed with a 10m javelin throw
- Zara (Year 10) and Maria (Year 7) both clocked a speedy 14-second 100m sprint
Beyond the competitions, many students played key roles in making the day a success - helping run events, capturing moments as photographers, recording results, and more. The day also focused on the importance of sporting values and how physical activity contributes to a healthy lifestyle.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to Mrs. Hodgson, our Head of PE, and the entire PE department for their incredible effort in organising such a memorable event. Your dedication behind the scenes truly made the day special for everyone involved.
