Today we celebrate the achievements of our students with our second round of GCSE results. Once again, we are very proud of how our students have exceeded expectations in a number of subject areas.
We have achieved excellent outcomes again this year in English with over 81% achieving a strong pass at Grade 5 in GCSE English Literature and 30% at Grade 7 and above. Other standout achievements include 46% of students achieving Grade 7 and above in GCSE Citizenship and 43% of students achieving Grade 7 and above in GCSE French.
Whilst there is no P8 measure this year, our results analysis shows that we are once again above national performance with 70% of students achieving 4+ in GCSE Maths and 78% in GCSE English Language and 90% in English in GCSE English Literature.
Our continued drive for excellence and high achievement is reflected again this year in the achievements of some of our highest performing students.
Ms L Williams, Headteacher, commented:
"I am incredibly proud of our students and the outstanding results that they have achieved this year. These outcomes are a testament to their resilience, ambition and the unwavering support of our dedicated staff and families. We remain committed to nurturing excellence and ensuring every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Congratulations to all!"
We have so much to celebrate with our students, families and staff. Our results today are a combination of hard work and dedication. As a school, we are committed to the success of every member of our school community and we are excited about the new academic year ahead.
We are proud of every single student for their hard work and achievements but today, we are giving a special shout-out to our Top Achievers who have truly gone above and beyond in their GCSE results.

Stay Back, Stay Out, Stay Safe - Don’t Mess With the River Thames Campaign
The River Thames may look calm, but beneath its surface lies a powerful tide that can overwhelm even the strongest swimmers.
To help prevent accidental drownings involving children and young people, the Port of London Authority (PLA) is launching a summer safety campaign.
The Thames is not a playground. It is not a safe place to swim, paddle, or play near – at any time.

We want to extend our deepest thanks to our students, staff, families, and community partners for their unwavering support and enthusiasm. A huge thank you to our students, staff, and families for making this year so special. Let’s celebrate all we’ve achieved and look forward to an even brighter year ahead!
On Monday 21st July, Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls welcomed families, governors, and guests to its annual Celebration Evening 2025 - a heartfelt tribute to the academic progress, creative expression, and leadership qualities of our students.
The evening reflected the school’s commitment to excellence and inclusivity, featuring:
Subject Awards for students in Years 7 to 10, spotlighting individual commitment and curriculum success across English, Science, Maths, the Arts, and Humanities.
A proud moment of recognition as students received their Prefect Badges, symbolising trust, responsibility, and peer leadership.
Live performances showcased the musical talent of our community: the Vocal Ensemble moved the audience with “Perfect” and “Speechless,” while the WPSfG Concert Band energised the hall with Pirates of the Caribbean.
Warm hosting from the Head Prefect Team- Ellie, Kirpah, Toluwani and Gessy.
Special Prizes honoured extraordinary dedication, resilience, and community spirit, reminding us that success comes in many forms.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments came from guest speaker Dr. Yewande Oduwole, award-winning dentist and advocate for diversity in STEM. Her speech resonated powerfully with our students, encouraging them to dream boldly and work persistently toward their goals.
The event was opened by Ms. S. Seale, Assistant Headteacher, and brought to a close by Ms. Williams, Headteacher, whose final words celebrated not just achievements, but the character and courage of our students.
Heartfelt thanks to all the staff, families and guests who made the evening such a vibrant celebration of potential and progress.
