    Published 12/06/23

    British Nutrition Foundation

We are a public-facing charity which exists to give people, educators and organisations access to reliable information on nutrition. Grounded in science; working with experts; supporting anyone on their journey towards a healthy, sustainable diet.

Healthy Eating Week 12-16 June 2023

Healthy Eating Week is all about supporting and promoting healthier lifestyles and this year’s theme is Healthy Eating Week - For Everyone!

The cost-of-living crisis continues to have an impact on the affordability of healthier diets for so many of us. With this in mind, for Healthy Eating Week 2023 we're focussing on providing free, evidence-based advice and support for everyone who wants to find their way to eat a healthier diet regardless of these barriers.

We have put together a poster of some of the recipes from the British Nutrition Foundation website and also the healthy food recipes on BBC Good Food.

  • Message for parents/carers - Hot weather

    Published 11/06/23

In the upcoming hot weather this week, we ask that jumpers are left at home.

We would like blazers to be worn to school, as a compulsory part of our school uniform. However, they can be removed during the day when it warms up.

Please ensure your child has a bottle of water that can be filled with water at break and lunch times and that they wear sun cream as appropriate.

  • Pride Month 2023

    Published 05/06/23
    What is pride month?

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is a month, typically June, dedicated to celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride. Pride Month began after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969, and has since spread outside the United States.

    What is the pride symbol?

The rainbow flag was created by the artist Gilbert Baker in 1978 and is used as a symbol of LGBTQ+ pride. Each colour on the flag has its own meaning. In the six colour flag the colours have the following meanings:

    • Red – symbolic of life
    • Orange – symbolic of healing
    • Yellow – sunshine
    • Green – Nature
    • Blue – Harmony
    • Purple – Spirit

There have been many variations of the rainbow flag. In 2021 the flag was altered to include black representing diversity, brown representing inclusivity and light blue and pink representing the colours of the trans flag.
