    We are pleased to announce that Woolwich Polytechnic Girls is introducing a new, more efficient and secure system for reporting your child’s absence due to illness, called Studybugs.

  • Year 7 First Day Complete at WPSfG

    One of our long-standing traditions here at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls is clapping out the Year 7s, come rain or shine. And while the weather didn’t quite cooperate today, the spirit certainly did!

    And while the skies opened up this afternoon, our incredible staff still lined the walkway with smiles and applause, giving our new cohort the warmest send-off as they headed home.

    We are so proud of how confidently our Year 7s embraced their first day, and we can’t wait to see all they will achieve this year. Here's to new beginnings and bright futures!

    The Journey Begins: Year 7s First Day at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls

    Today marks a truly special milestone at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls, as we warmly welcome our newest cohort of Year 7 students.

    This morning, our hall was filled with excitement and anticipation as our Year 7s came together for the very first time in a whole year group assembly - a moment that marks the beginning of their journey with us.

    Throughout the day, students will take part in a variety of engaging team-building activities within their tutor groups, explore the school through guided tours, and learn about our routines and expectations, all before lunch!

    We are absolutely thrilled to begin this new chapter with such a vibrant and promising group of young people. Here's to a fantastic start and a future full of growth, discovery, and success!

  • Woolwich Polytechnic School for Girls Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Success!

    Today we celebrate the achievements of our students with our second round of GCSE results. Once again, we are very proud of how our students have exceeded expectations in a number of subject areas.

    We have achieved excellent outcomes again this year in English with over 81% achieving a strong pass at Grade 5 in GCSE English Literature and 30% at Grade 7 and above. Other standout achievements include 46% of students achieving Grade 7 and above in GCSE Citizenship and 43% of students achieving Grade 7 and above in GCSE French.

    Whilst there is no P8 measure this year, our results analysis shows that we are once again above national performance with 70% of students achieving 4+ in GCSE Maths and 78% in GCSE English Language and 90% in English in GCSE English Literature.

    Our continued drive for excellence and high achievement is reflected again this year in the achievements of some of our highest performing students.

    Ms L Williams, Headteacher, commented:

    "I am incredibly proud of our students and the outstanding results that they have achieved this year. These outcomes are a testament to their resilience, ambition and the unwavering support of our dedicated staff and families. We remain committed to nurturing excellence and ensuring every student is empowered to reach their full potential. Congratulations to all!"

    We have so much to celebrate with our students, families and staff. Our results today are a combination of hard work and dedication. As a school, we are committed to the success of every member of our school community and we are excited about the new academic year ahead.

    We are proud of every single student for their hard work and achievements but today, we are giving a special shout-out to our Top Achievers who have truly gone above and beyond in their GCSE results.

    The following students achieved at least six subjects at Grade 7 and above:
